Ford would rather line speculators’ pockets than address affordability, climate change

QUEEN’S PARK — Official Opposition NDP Leader Marit Stiles issued this statement after the Ford Conservatives voted ‘no’ on the NDP’s motion to make heat pumps free and help Ontarians with other energy-saving retrofits:

“The NDP is the only party putting forward solutions to tackle both affordability and climate change.

Our proposal would make homes more efficient and lower people’s energy bills.

But Ford’s Conservatives would rather line their land speculators friends’ pockets and write meaningless letters to Ottawa than help people with their bills and lower their carbon emissions.

We’ll keep bringing real solutions to make life more affordable and fight climate change.”
